Cry of the Taniwha Prejudice

My Reflection

Over the last term we have been looking at a book called The Cry of the Taniwha.

It is about Two boys called Mat and Jackson/Juzza

We looked at the character and got to choose which character we would like to choose.

I chose the character Mat.

We were looking at the characters personality, what people think of him and what he really is. I thought that this was easy to do because I knew the character really well because I knew the story well.

My next step is to use this strategy more in my head while I'm reading my books.

In our classroom this year our topic is civil defence. The three natural desasters we have been looking at are Volcanic eruptions, Earthquakes and tsunamies because it's more likely for these things to happen in our area. So during the last couple weeks in our class we have been working on doing Volcano art.

I have been learning to summarise and record my research in my own words.

I found this tricky to do because I couldn't think of words to replace of sentences.

I think I will find this planning helpful for my writing because it gives me an idea of what actually happens in a eruption. My next step is to use the enviroment around me to look for for words.

I thought that was a fun activity

I would like to do this activity again except in other areas.

Comparing fractions

I am learning to compare fractions.

I thought that this specific fraction was easy to do , I would really like to learn how to do harder fractions.

My next step is to learn how to do improper fractions and fractions with different denominators and numerators.
